The Power of Storytelling: Building Bridges Across Cultures
I live in a world where I cross my career path of diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and a sense of belonging (DEIB) with my business and passion for writing. When I tell you these two go hand in hand, especially when crossing cultural lines and storytelling, it feels like a match made in heaven.
Stories are not just for entertainment. They can break apart barriers and allow empathy to flow into conversations. Whether orally, written down, or through literature and film, narratives can raise emotions that transcend cultural competencies and challenge our very ideas of life.
This reminds me of the popular video game series Fire Emblem. One game in the series uniquely tackles racism and slavery. The story takes complex issues and makes them simple for people to consume while entertaining.
