Every time I try to avoid a Pothole… I hit it anyways
--
They’re everywhere
stagnant as I move
I try to avoid the inevitable,
Yet still despite my efforts
conflict ensues
I don’t know how to avoid these catastrophes
Every time I swerve past them I still
end up doomed,
boom then crash, I run into problems I
tried to move past.
Potholes
So as of right now, I’m a full-time Lyft Driver. Being in between jobs, I need to find something to earn money while a new opportunity presents itself. As i ride around town, picking up strangers and occasionally hearing about their lives, I come across a pothole or two. And man… do I always seem ti hit these potholes.
I’m surprised my tires haven't popped with the amount I run over religiously. Sometimes I wonder how and why there are so many around and how I manage to hit them.
Every.
Single.
Time.
If I were to make a comparison, I would say that these potholes are the little aversions in my life. Conflicts I thought I was avoiding daily. Yet somehow, they hit me right in the face. Yes, potholes are the small miscellaneous bills and subscriptions I haven’t canceled. Potholes are me stumping my toe on my bed frame in the morning when I wake up. Potholes are the cups of water I spill on me occasionally as I write.
One would think that this clumsy, aloof kid would avoid these silly mishaps. However, that is not the case at all. Today I’m going to go out and do Lyft again. Hopefully, I can avoid these atrocities on the road.
How will I do that? by following these simple steps
- Be more vigilant on the road.
When driving for such a long period of time, often one can get lost in the cruise. No, I’m not saying I don’t get careless on the road. I consider myself a great driver. But once in a blue moon, you can just cruise and not see the pothole until it’s too late. So this time, I’m going to be vigilant the entire time, and avoid every pothole. I’m positive I won't, but I'll try. - Try not to get flustered when I come across a pothole.
Accidents happen. Mishaps occur. I can spill water on me, little things shouldn't affect me significantly throughout my day. Therefore, they won't. - That’s it, there isn’t much else.
